YOUR LETTERS: BROTHERS' DEATHS A SAD LESSON TO US ALL
Jane MaguireI WEPT after reading in the Irish Sunday Mirror of the deaths of little brothers Robert and Gareth Barkley who died when a blaze swept through their home at the weekend.
When lives are lost anywhere, and especially following a fire in the home, it is tragic.
When it is the young who are the victims, then it is all the more tragic.
The parents and other members of the family who survived are in my prayers at this time.
If this sad affair teaches us anything, it is that fire in the home can and does kill.
Let us all, therefore, step up fire checks in our homes. And should the unspeakable ever happen and fire does break out, it is important that an evacuation procedure is in place to get family members out.
