2004 PSA Chapter Showcase

All 14 chapters participated in the 2004 PSA Chapters Showcase. The 2004 Showcase was hosted by the Central Florida Chapter and presented for the first time at the international Conference in Minneapolis in September. The Southern California Roundup Chapter scored 211 points and was awarded first place. The Chicago and Puget Sound Chapters each scored 210 points. The judges were required to break ties, and they awarded second place to the Chicago Chapter and third place to the Puget Sound Chapter. The remaining chapters participating were Cascade, Central Florida, Cosmopolitan, Everglades, Gem State, Gold Rush, Inland Empire, Mid-Atlantic, Rocky Mountain, Wisconsin, and Yerba Buena.

Those photos judged to be the most outstanding of the 2004 Showcase are reproduced with this account of the Showcase. Barbara Kudrnovsky of the Chicago Chapter was awarded the Best of the Showcase for Pasque Flower. The first runner-up was Almost There by Robert Morgan of the Puget Sound Chapter, the second runner-up was Mt. Shuksan by Murphy M. Hektner of the Puget Sound Chapter and the third runner-up was Parrot by Melanie Hurwitz of the Everglades Chapter.

Ribbons for the top scoring slides from each chapter were also awarded to the following photographers: Bill Burke, APSA, of the Cascade Chapter; Maria DaRocha of the Cosmopolitan Chapter; Lyle Campbell of the Gem State Chapter; Lloyd Beaver. FPSA, of the Gold Rush Chapter; Gerald Biggs of the Inland Empire Chapter; Larry Mars of the Mid-Atlantic Chapter; Carol Meisenheimer, APSA, PPSA, of the Rocky Mountain Chapter; Helen Weinman of the Southern California Roundup Chapter: Lynn Rieger of the Wisconsin Chapter; and Galyn Hammond, FPSA, of the Yerba Buena Chapter.

Judges for the Chapters Showcase were from the Central Florida Chapter. Serving as judges were Louis Flack, APSA; Nick Muskovac, APSA, PPSA; and Ray Parry.

The 2005 Showcase will be hosted by the Southern California Roundup Chapter, and the first presentation of the Showcase will be at the PSA International Conference in Salt Lake City. Entry forms and all the information needed for the chapters to participate will be sent to each chapter next January.
