Ice cream war killer Campbell weds in prison
PAUL HUNTERCONVICTED "ice cream war" murderer Thomas "TC" Campbell has married his girlfriend in jail.
Campbell exchanged vows with Karen Packer in the chapel at Shotts Prison in Lanarkshire as 20 friends and family looked on. The couple's 14-month- old daughter Shannon was flower girl.
The bride, dressed in a cream silk and lace dress, told reporters: "This is the happiest day of my life but I'm also sad because Tommy's still inside.
"It was over so quickly and before I knew it he was being taken back to his cell."
Campbell, 46, and Joe Steele, 36, were sentenced to life after murdering six members of one family, including an 18-month-old baby, in a fire which swept through a tenement flat in Ruchazie, Glasgow, in 1984.
The killings were part of a violent war for control of the ice cream van business in the city's East End.
