I DON'T understand why the mandarins of Europe want to send a peace-keeping force to Afghanistan now that the end of our mission appears in sight. Our job, in conjunction with our American allies, was to get Osama bin Laden brought to justice and to neutralise the Taliban. British troops should not join a "Euro-army" presence in Afghanistan. When the job is over we should bring our troops home.
