MISS WORLD REVEALS HER TWO-HOUR RAPE ORDEAL
SIMON JONESMISS WORLD Linor Abargil was brutally raped just weeks before winning the beauty contest, it was revealed last night.
The 19-year-old Israeli beauty, who was crowned on Thursday, was slapped, tied up and subjected to a terrifying two-hour ordeal after modelling in a fashion show in Milan.
An Italian judge is now investigating the attack.
Linor's ordeal began when she went to a travel agents in Milan to book a flight to Rome. She told police she accepted a lift from the "polite" travel agency boss after he told there were no flights - and offered to drive her instead. "He said that by coincidence he was going to Rome himself. As he was the boss I wasn't worried. I put my case in the boot of his BMW and we drove off."
But as they approached a motorway out of Milan he turned off into a darkened side street and stopped the car, said Linor. When she refused to let him kiss her, he slapped her, tied her hands and raped her for two hours.
"He started hitting me in the face, then he held my arms and pulled out some thick tape," she said. "He was so strong I couldn't move and there was no room to struggle in the car.
"He tied up my hands with the tape and put some over my mouth to stop me screaming. Then he raped me...I don't know how many times."
"Nobody walked past. There was nobody who could help me.
"When he'd finished with me he took off the tape. I was crying and he tried to console me, saying he was sorry. He wanted me to fogive him."
He drove her back to her hotel in Milan while she wept, said Linor.
The next morning she took a train to Rome and reported the incident to the police.
Her ordeal - which took place on October 6 - was revealed after she scooped the $100,000 Miss World prize in the Seychelles, watched by TV audiences around the world.
The travel agent has been questioned by Milan public prosecutor Bruna Albertini and is currently out on bail.
Linor, who is dating a 27-year-old Israeli man, is expected in London today and will then return to Israel for military service.
