soundtrack various trigger happy TV 2 (4music) HHH
Noor KadhimFROM the outlandish spiritual successor to Candid Camera comes a second soundtrack that ought to reflect the entertainingly provocative nature of the show but doesn't. Like the first volume - which presenter Dom Joly admitted "was a unique opportunity to play his record collection to a more discerning audience than his neighbour and two cats" - the tracks are cool and laid-back, if rather un-Trigger-like in their general melancholy. David Gray, Mercury Rev and PJ Harvey bring a relaxed contemporary flavour, but the relative obscurity of other songs might deter the mainstream buyer. It's also lacking energetic oomph in places, although 1980s offerings such as Captain Sensible's daft Glad It's All Over and Bakerman's Laid Back radiate welcome, lively, summery vibes. High- quality, then, but lacking in character.
