I AGREE with Carole Malone's moan about getting her gas meter read. I was at home when the meter reader called and I saw him post his card through my letter box reading: "Sorry you were not at home". I caught up with him two doors down and asked why he didn't knock. "I did knock," he said. "Did you ring the bell?" I asked. "Yes, twice!" he assured me.

I don't have a bell.
