In the cards?
John GrayDear Interview,
You've done it again! I absolutely loved your interview of Jeff Bridges by Philip Seymour Hoffman [July 2004]--two of my all-time favorite actors alive. In 1991, my girlfriend did a tarot reading for Bridges on the boardwalk of Venice Beach. I met Hoffman in 1994 in Chicago at an afterglow for The Merchant of Venice, in which he had a small role. Both actors were humble, gracious, and down-to-earth. Bridges had just finished the Fisher King [1991] and was having serious doubts about his next project, American Heart [1992]. When I met him, I had seen Hoffman only in Scent of a Woman [1992] and When a Man Loves a Woman [1994], yet his performances in those two movies alone were special enough for me to tell him how amazing an actor he is--something he continues to be. I aspire to someday perform with both of these truly talented actors. Thanks once again for letting me be the proverbial fly on the wall!
