Woman trying to get handbag is killed by train
ANITA SINGHA WOMAN in her 30s died when she climbed on to a railway track to retrieve her handbag and was hit by a train.
The un-named woman was killed instantly as horrified commuters looked on at Bellingham Station in Lewisham, South East London.
She was hit by a Connex train travelling from Kent to Blackfriars, London.
A spokesman for the British Transport Police said the victim's family had been informed
He added: "It seems as if she went to retrieve her belongings but didn't make it out in time.
"There were a number of witnesses and the transport police will be speaking to them when they are less traumatised."
A MAN in his 30s died when he was hit by a train at Kensington Olympia station in London yesterday, and a woman aged 56 was killed when she was struck by a train at Horley station in Surrey.
