pounds 17m to get Harrison on board a sub
JAMES DAVISHARRISON Ford will pick up a pay cheque of pounds 17million this month - for just 20 days work.
The Oscar winner stars as a Russian submarine commander in K-19: The Widowmaker, the true story of a nuclear disaster which could have started World War III.
The plot bears a grim similarity to the Kursk tragedy last year in which 118 Russians perished off the coast of Norway.
Harrison, 58, said: "I took it because this is a gripping story.
"Russian submariners showed tremendous courage."
Marlon Brando received $2 million for less than ten minutes on screen in the 1978 film Superman.
