buzz lightyear Background Recent news suggests that the nation's favourite plastic is actually the son of the evil Emperor Zurg, but Buzz himself has always been reticent about his past. He began training as an intergalactic superhero at the Space Ranger Academy. A combination of luck, determination and Mandelsonion catchphrases brought him to the home of Andy where he appeared, wrapped in Christmas paper, in 1995.

Appearance Lightyear has the ultimate superhero physique: he's a space-age rugby boy with muscle-torn body to match. His mournful eyes, chiselled jaw and George Clooney-sized face are sure to have been a hit with the girls back home. Always dressed in eco-warrior green, festooned with buttons and gadgetry galore, Buzz manages to be the epitome of modern man while only being 12 inches high.

Hobbies Like most superheroes, Buzz has time for only two things: oneupmanship and saving the world. Luckily, these twin pastimes embody a wealth of interesting secondary skills - his karate chop action is second to none and his flying skills, somewhat hindered by his inefficient terillium-carbide wings, are nothing if not enthusiastic.

Track record The mish-mash of bruised egos, jealousy and putting- in place that occurred during the making of Toy Story didn't allow for Buzz to become embroiled with any fellow toys. Having found, through his love for the moralistic Woody, that he has indeed a heart, the plasticated superman has discovered the trials of true love. She's a gun-totin' hard rockin' cowgirl with an attitude to match.

DANNII MINOGUE Background Ms Minogue Jr, the teeny Australian sister of a more famous teeny Australian star, was born Danielle Jane on October 20, 1971. As a nipper she was academically disenchanted, but once she got a taste of stardom, the wagging tomboy became the perfect teen. By the time Dannii had reached 16, she was a soap star, a singer and had her own line in fashion design.
