During the daily happy hour - 5-7pm - drinks are two for the price of one. From 1-7pm daily, there's also buy one-get-one-free on all food.
Bar Bola, 144 Park Road, Glasgow, 0141-339 2992 This stylish bar is a popular lunch spot for office workers and students. It's during the happy hour - 4-7pm - that it is at its busiest as the same crowd return to indulge in some great value promos. Sadly, cocktails (#3.90) such as the Alabama Slammer and the Watermelon Cooler aren't included, although there's 50p off shooters (#2.50) after 8pm on Thursdays.
Filling Station, 235 High Street, Edinburgh, 0131-226 2488 American licence plates and Shell petrol signs provide the theme in this bar/restaurant which seats 120. Attracting a fairly young professional crowd, the bar is always packed with people who know how to party. There are 26 cocktails on offer, all under #4 and only #2.50 during happy hour (Mon-Fri 5-9pm).
Havana, 50 Hope Street, Glasgow, 0141-248 4466 A real good-time establishment, the cocktail menu includes 16 varieties, of which the Cuba Libra and the Mai Tai are among favourites, all at around #4.50 (or #3 during happy hour, daily 5-7pm). There are also four deluxe cocktails, including the Champagne Cocktail and the Absolut Shambles, both #6.95.
Old Orleans, 30 Grindlay Street, Edinburgh, 0131-229 1511 Decked- out with dark wood and huge fans, at Old Orleans they're into jazz in a big way. Coming in at #3.60-#3.80 (#1 off during happy hour, daily 3-8pm) the range of 40 cocktails includes many eye-watering combos. If you're a showman, have the Flaming Lamborghini, which comes with a complex drinking ritual sure to make you the centre of attention.
