WE BOMB OUR OWN; Family wiped out

US warplanes bombed Northern Alliance lines by mistake yesterday killing a family of ten.

The blunder came as American jets targeting Taliban forces near Bagram Airport overshot on one bombing raid and destroyed the family's house in Ghanikhil - a tiny mountain village two miles INSIDE Alliance-held territory.

Rescuers were having to wait until daybreak today to recover bodies as any torchlight would make them targets for Taliban snipers.
