Whitaker in tune with Handel

SHOWJUMPING: Michael Whitaker and Richard Davenport are Britain's challengers in the first round of the World Cup Final at the World Indoor Championship, which opens in Leipzig today, writes Ann Martin.

British No 1 Whitaker, who was third last year, rides the same horse, Handel II, he rode then. Davenport, on Grand Marnier, failed to qualify but is in the field because several higher-ranked riders have withdrawn because their horses are lame.
