New faces:

Windermere Real Estate's Spokane-East Sprague office has added three sales associates to its staff:

Joanne Pettit has practiced real estate for 10 years and was previously with Ironwood Homes Inc.

Stu Vanzyuerden previously worked for Prudential Crane for five years.

Irene Eierdam worked for Better Homes and Gardens for two years, and before that was a teacher for 14 years.

The Mutual of Omaha Cos. have named Peter Holmes general manager of the Spokane Division office. Holmes joined Mutual of Omaha last December as an agency development consultant in Peabody, Mass. He has worked for many years as a recruiting and development manager, sales manager and multiline agent in the insurance industry.

Margaret Harrington has joined Associated Industries of the Inland Northwest as a staff attorney. She will focus on environmental compliance and employment law on behalf of association members. A graduate of Gonzaga University School of Law, Harrington previously was in private practice with the Spokane office of Seattle-based Preston Gates & Ellis.

James Reed has joined Winston & Cashatt as a principal. Formerly with Backman, Blumel & Reed, Reed will continue to concentrate in the areas of construction law and land use and planning.

John Miller has joined Winston & Cashatt as an associate, and will continue his general civil practice with emphasis in commercial law. Brian McGinn and Thomas McBride have also joined the firm as associates.

Sandy Brosam has joined Crowley Realty Better Homes and Gardens as an agent. Prior to joining Crowley Realty, Brosam was a small business owner in the leather/garment manufacturing/ tailoring industry.

Jan Pierone has joined David Evans and Associates as an administrative/ support staff. Pierone will provided computer/support services to engineers, surveyors, architects, and planners as well as handling receptionist duties.

Robert Wilder, D.D.S., is now in practice with Dr. Arthur Rudd at 5901 N. Lidgerwood. Wilder graduated from Northwestern University School of Dentistry, and will focus his practice on family dentistry.

Ken Bain has been hired as a CPA at Rings & Things. He previously operated Spectrum Music in the Spokane Valley.

The Paine, Hamblen, Coffin, Brooke and Miller have announced the addition of two new attorneys to their litigation staff: Jane Brown, a graduate of Gonzaga University School of Law, has worked as an intern for the firm while attending law school. Brown is a member of the Washington State Bar Association. Geoffery Swindler, a graduate of the University of Puget Sound, has experience in trial work, mediation and arbitration. Swindler was previously with Hollenbeck & Associates in Bellevue, Wash, and is a member of the Washington State Bar Association and the Washington Defense Trial Lawyers Association.

The following have joined the staff of KSPS:

Kai Huschke joins KSPS Public Television as corporate support account executive. Huschke's responsibilities will include increasing awareness among Spokane businesses about the benefits and services offered by Public Television.

George Hovorka joins KSPS as staff producer. Hovorka's duties will include educational and on-air promotion productions. Hovorka was most recently producer/director at KVOS-TV, Vancouver B.C./Bellingham.

SeDonni Jones will process membership mail and information for The Friends of Seven. Jones was previously a part-time employee for KSPS.

Dave Kempton has joined Mobile Auto Restoration Service (M.A.R.S.) as a certified technician in the Coeur d'Alene area. Kempton has extensive background in the automotive industry and was selected from over 50 applicants.

Mark Switzer P.E., has recently joined Taylor Engineering Inc., as project engineer. Licensed as a professional civil engineer, Switzer has eight years of site and public works design experience, and is presently project engineer on a new 1600 car space Dealers Auto Auction facility on Hayford Road.

George Troskohas been chosen scout executive of the Inland Northwest Council for the Boy Scouts of America. Trosko has served for four years as associate regional director of finance for the Western Region, in Tempe, Arizona and has been a consultant to all of the region's 61 councils on business and administrative matters.

David Swarat has joined Tomlinson Black, North Idaho sales team. Swarat specializes in residential and commercial real estate.

Dr. Clay Damon has joined the orthodontic practice of Dr. Floyd Damon at 722 Northtown Office Building. Damon received his dental degree from the University of Washington and completed his residency in orthodontics at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio.

Thomas Trumbull has joined the Windermere Real Estate's Spokane North Wall office as sales associate. Trumbull was previously a United Airline pilot and served with the United States Navy for six years.

Moving Up:

Edwin Wagnild has been elected to the Taylor Engineering, Inc. Board of Directors and has been designated chief financial officer. Wagnild has been with the firm since 1989 as financial manager.

Lisa Heath has been named vice president of marketing of Sterling Savings Association. She has been with the company since 1988.

First Interstate Bank has promoted Scott Rudy from private banking officer to assistant vice president. He is responsible for providing banking services to affluent customers.

Elected:

The Washington Auctioneers Association has elected new officers:

R.L. Heaverlo, Heaverlo Auctions, Yakima, president; Randy Grudzinski, Randy Grudzinski Auctioneers, Walla Walla, second vice president; and Garry Montague, Garry Montague Auctioneers, Spokane, treasurer.

The Spokane Estate Planning Council has elected new officers for 1995-1996:

James O'Connoll, James O'Connoll and Associates, president; Ronald Douglas, Douglas, Eden, Phillips & Deruyter, vice-president; Gary Schroeder, Lemaster and Daniels, secretary/treasurer; Craig Korthouse, US Bank of Washington, program chairman; Jim Howard, James Howard, membership chairman.

The Inland Empire Chapter of the Soil and Water Conservation Society elected officers for the 1995-1996 term: Chet Jahns, Spokane, president; Mike Sporcic, Othello, vice-president; Mike Klugland, Ritzville, secretary; Esther Patterson, Moscow, treasurer.

James Semick, North Idaho Insurance, was elected vice-president and president-elect of the Independent Insurance Agents of Idaho Inc.

Darrell Blue, general manager of KAPP-TV/KVEW-TV, Yakima/Tri-Cities, has been elected president of the Washington State Association of Broadcasters for 1995-1996.

Val Limburg, professor of communication, Edward R. Murrow School of Communications, Washington State University, was elected secretary/treasurer of the Washington State Association of Broadcasters.

William G. Papesh, president of Composite Research and Management Co., has been elected to the board of governors of the Investment Co. Institute. Papesh, who is also president and director of the composite group of funds, will serve a three-year term with the institute.

The Spokane Country Club has elected 1996 officers: John Skelton has been elected president of the board of trustees; Dick Bingham,vice president; and Ron Plummer, secretary-treasurer. The following were elected as trustees: Greg Hougham, Dr. Jon Wamba, and David Levitch.

Spokane Building Owners and Mangers Association (BOMA) has elected 1996 officers and board members: Steven Nelson, president; Gordon Hester, president elect; and Thomas Talkington vice president. Ada Harris, Kevin Kragt, Kenneth Schug, Dave Tomson, Donald Walters, and David Wright were all elected board members.

The Pacific Northwest Rapeseed/ Canola Association elected Ron Jirava, Ritzville, Wash., as secretary-treasurer. Bob Stach of Stach Farms, Nezperce, Idaho; Wayne Jensen, were elected to represent Idaho growers andRoger Dye, Pomeroy; and Curtis Hennings, Spectrum, Ritzville was elected to represent Washington growers.

Appointed:

Robert Critchlow has been appointed to a funded position of the Civil Rights Committee. The appointed was made by the Board of Governors of the Washington State Bar Association.

Gary Randall, a Gonzaga Law School Professor, has been appointed to chair the Mandatory Continuing Legal Education Board. The Board is a governing body for all continuing legal education in the State of Washington. Randall was previously past-Chair of the Washington State Bar Association Section on Taxation.

Dr. Jim Vancho,Board Certified Chiropractic Orthopedist, recently passed the Montana State Board Licensing Exam. Vancho is licensed in Idaho, Oregon and Colorado and maintains a private practice in Post Falls. Vancho also performs independent medical exams, chart reviews and serves a consultant to attorney and insurance companies.

Starting Up:

Fairway Floor and Design Center has opened at 4065 E. 16th, Post Falls. Owner Art Trenkle, plans to display more styles and offer customers more selections with the new 8000 square foot floor and window coverings showroom.
