Scotland for the free trip

Dagmar Muhle, general manager of the five-star Caledonian Hilton in Edinburgh, will be in Chicago next week to promote Scotland at the Incentive Travel and Meetings Exhibition.

IT&ME, which runs from September 24-26, represents the largest collection of meetings and incentive travel destinations in the world. The Caledonian Hilton will be joining Hilton hotels worldwide to promote Scotland and Edinburgh to buyers from all over the world.

Muhle said: "Scotland is a wonderful destination for business and leisure travellers. We are all responsible for promoting Scotland and are keen to stimulate interest in Scotland to impact the American markets. We must ensure that Scotland is front-of-mind; we have so much to offer."

According to Peter Lederer, chairman of VisitScotland, "Shows such as IT&ME allow us to showcase Scotland. The meeting, incentive travel and corporate hospitality sector in Scotland is a lucrative element of our industry and holds significant potential for Scotland to reap greater benefit."
