Football: Fergie's red alert
MARK McGUINNESSSIR ALEX FERGUSON last night admitted Manchester United are struggling to find their shooting boots - but has warned his rivals that somebody will pay when they do.
Ferguson is happy with all aspects of his side's performances, other than the fact that his front men have been missing so many chances.
He said: "The area I hope we can improve is at home, in terms of taking early chances for instance. We've been stretching games out where we shouldn't because we have been missing chances.
"It's just a case of taking the chances that come along. We are certainly stronger looking defensively, there's no doubt about that."
Ferguson heads for Olympiakos this week knowing that a solitary point will send his men through to the next round of the Champions League.
Once qualification is secured, Ferguson is likely to give runouts to players such as new Spanish goalkeeper Ricardo as well as South African winger Quinton Fortune.
