Costa hitmen gun down Brit
FIONA JAMESA YOUNG Briton has died after being shot at point-blank range in a gangland hit outside his villa on Spain's Costa del Sol early yesterday.
Detectives named the victim only as Alan Martin D., 37, and said he was ambushed just after midnight as he arrived at his home in Marbella.
Officers from the National Police's organised crime squad said at least three gunmen fired at point blank range at the victim as he sat at the wheel of his car.
Police insisted that the murder was a gangland contract killing connected to the Costa's multi-million-pound drug smuggling industry.
Dozens of gangsters have made their homes in the area around Marbella.
They include Great Train Robber Charlie Wilson, who was shot dead along with his dog by a man on a motorbike, on the doorstep of his mansion in the city in 1990.
-TENS of thousands of people marched through the centre of San Sebastian, in the heart of the Basque Country, to protest against "obligatory" Basque nationalism and the terror group ETA.
