Rugby Union: Wales so brave but miss out
SOUTH AFRICA...34 WALES................19WALES put up a brave performance before finally succumbing to the might of the Springboks.
They dominated the opening half an hour and deservedly led 11-3 with five minutes of the period remaining before the Springboks found their form.
Centre Marius Joubert scored a try in the 34th minute and No 8 Bob Skinstad added another on the stroke of halftime to give the home side the lead at 15-11 for the first time.
Wales narrowed the margin to a point with a Stephen Jones penalty but then the home side stormed clear.
Wales wings Craig Morgan and Rhys Williams scored their side's tries, Morgan striking early to silence the 30,000 crowd.
