Stabbing mile from Damilola
FIONA JAMESA 15-YEAR-OLD boy was fighting for his life last night after being stabbed outside a youth club less than a mile from where schoolboy Damilola Taylor was murdered.
Police were called after reports of a teenager being attacked in Camberwell, South London.
The victim, who is black, had suffered stab wounds to the chest and received emergency treatment at the scene before being taken to hospital. He was said to be in a "critical" condition.
The road where the boy was attacked is less than a mile from the North Peckham Estate where 10-year-old Damilola was stabbed to death in November 2000.
Last night the area remained sealed off while forensic officers carried out tests.
Scotland Yard said that no weapon had yet been recovered and there had been no arrests.
Officers know the identity of the victim, but were refusing to release further details.
