Motorsport: Jamie in pole woe
JOHN BROWNSCOTLAND'S Jamie Campbell-Walter missed out on pole position by just under half a second on his Superpole qualifying lap for today's penultimate round of the FIA GT Championship at Donington Park.
Campbell-Walter lost time towards the end of the lap in his Lister Storm and was left to settle for second place behind Frenchman Jean- Marc Gounon in a Ferrari 550 Maranello.
The Scot and his German co-driver Nicolaus Springer are 3.5 points behind championship leaders, France's Christphe Bouchut and David Terrien, who only qualified eighth with their Chrysler.
"We certainly hope to be leading the championship after this home round," said Campbell-Walter.
