S MurphyPOOR Thuraya. Her diary of life in Baghdad during the American attacks is both harrowing and heartening.
Harrowing because of the risk to life caused by any war, and heartening because she and her family have lived through the bomb blitzes and cruise attacks.
But America is blowing it.
It was ridiculous to limit military strikes to preserve infrastructure while conquering a country and then allow looting like that we have seen in Baghdad and Basra.
Why not invoke military law while the streets are being made safe and local police forces are rounded up and reinstated and power, water and food supplies repaired?
I'm sure the locals would understand that better than watching their cities burn...
