I AM shocked that Joe Duffy's younger brother Brendan has been jailed for stealing a mobile phone and public order offences.

But I think that Joe's attitude to his brother's plight is worse.

Brendan is addicted to heroin and living in a bed-sit while Joe is lording it up in a posh house.

No matter what happens, family is family and, even though you can't help an addict unless he wants to be helped, Joe should at least try.
