SAMMY IN TRANSFER

TEENAGE Emmerdale beauty Sammy Winward is getting over her love split with soccer-star fiance David Dunn... with the help of his England team-mate Alan Smith.

The end of Sammy's romance with pounds 6million Birmingham City star Dunn was revealed just four days ago. But she is already being comforted by soccer bad boy Alan Smith, 23, the pounds 10million Leeds striker who plays alongside Dunn in England's Under-21 side. Last week Sammy, who plays Katie Addyman in the ITV1 soap, went on a date with Smith - sent off nine times so far in his short career - who split from model Lauren Frain, three months ago.

Lauren has now fallen for Man United's Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo, 19, after they met at a Christmas party.

"A week ago Sammy was heartbroken after she and David split," said a source. "Then she met Alan and they really clicked. She will definitely be seeing him again."
