Children to sing during Lutheran church service
Linda Ball correspondentLutheran Academy of the Master children will be singing special songs Sunday during the 8:30 a.m. worship service at Lutheran Church of the Master, 4800 Ramsey Road. They also will share their artwork related to fishing and share the Bible story of Jesus calling his disciples to fish for the people.
Two new Bible studies are being offered on Sunday mornings at Lutheran Church of the Master from 9:45 to 10:45. "Raising Kids" offers parenting education, especially for parents with preschool- and elementary-age children and continues for 12 weeks. "The Ultimate Hunt," an eight-week course, may be especially interesting to men, by affirming their recreational and sporting activities, as they explore their faith and seek to walk with Christ in their daily lives.

Speakers at discussion group
Anne Salisbury and Bob Brown will speak about their eight days in Iowa working on the Howard Dean presidential campaign Sunday at the Unitarian Universalist discussion group at 10:30 a.m. in the Harding Family Center, 15th and Wallace.
They will share first-hand experiences of working with more than 3,000 volunteers, provide an insight into how the caucus system works in Iowa, and their observations of the media.
Political enthusiasts and anyone who wants to learn more about participating in the Idaho caucus Feb. 24 are all welcome. Child care is provided.
Aglow meeting
The Coeur d'Alene Day Aglow Lighthouse will meet Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Coeur d'Alene Inn, 414 W. Appleway Ave.
The guest speaker will be Cindy Paap who will be speaking on "God's Everlasting Love." She has been in two auto accidents and has had 26 surgeries, and was told she would never walk again.

Women's club meeting
The Coeur d'Alene Christian Women's Club will meet Thursday from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at the Coeur d'Alene Resort.
The theme is "Pampered Valentine Experience." The program includes a demonstration of the "how-to" for an at-home spa experience. The Lake City Harmonizers will provide entertainment, and there will be a surprise speaker.
Lunch is $9 and reservations can be made by calling Anita at 687- 0291 or Prudy at 772-9013. Complimentary child care is provided by reservation.
Brown bag lunch study
Community United Methodist Church, 1470 W. Hanley Ave., is beginning a new brown bag lunch study about world religions called "What do other Faiths Believe?" The group, open to anyone in the community, will meet from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesdays to study Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism and Bahai. Also at Community United, all youths in the area, grades 6-12, are invited to join the church youths for a ski weekend at Lookout Pass, Friday through Feb. 15. Adult staff will chaperone, led by youth director William Bentz.

FaithWeaver Friends to meet
The First Baptist Church at Fifth and Wallace, invites children grades 1 through 6 to FaithWeaver Friends, a family-friendly program to be held Thursdays from 3:45 to 5 p.m.
An informational/registration meeting and ice cream party will be held Feb. 15 at 3 p.m., with the first meeting on Feb. 19. Please call the church office at 667-5429 or Birdee at 765-5970 for more information and to reserve your family a spot at the ice cream table.
