A human face on a current debate
E.J. AdamsThe priest Martin Lanigan's parents consulted advised them not to attend his homosexual wedding because they would be condoning a sin. What is sinful about promising to love one another?
What they do after the ceremony, in the privacy of their own bedroom, might be considered to be a sin. Are we, therefore, condoning a sin, when we attend a heterosexual wedding because the couple may practice birth control (a sin) in the privacy of their own bedroom, as over 90 per cent of practising Catholics do?
