Singing event plannned at First Presbyterian

The First Presbyterian Church and the Northwest Sacred Music Chorale will perform the "Battle Hymn of the Republic" by Wilhausky, Sunday at 11:30 a.m. at the church at 521 Lakeside Ave.. This is open to any singers in the community. Rehearsal is today at 11:30 a.m. Men and women in uniform, past or present, are encouraged to attend.

This familiar arrangement was heard recently at the funeral of President Ronald Reagan at the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C.

ATHOL BAPTIST PLANS BIBLE SCHOOL

The Athol Baptist Church, at 29150 N. Highway 95, invites children age 4 through completion of sixth grade to attend its annual vacation Bible school, July 12-16 from 8:50 a.m. to noon each day.

This year's theme is Rickshaw Rally, Racing to the Son. A pre- registration picnic will be held at Athol City Park July 10 from 1 to 3 p.m. For more information, call Dorie Mallory at 683-0413 or the church at 683-2802.

DALTON CHURCH SCHEDULES BIBLE SCHOOL

The Dalton Garden Church of Christ, 6439 N. Fourth St., will hold its vacation Bible school, July 12-15, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each day, with an evening program at 7 p.m. July 15.

This is open to 3-year-olds through sixth grade. The theme is "Superhero VBS." The children will learn about the Bible heroes Daniel, Ruth, Noah and Peter. For more information and registration, call the church at 772-0541.

AGLOW EVENT

The Idaho State Aglow International will host "You Deserve the Highest Praise" July 17 at the Coeur d'Alene Resort.

The event starts at 8 a.m. with prayer and ministry, followed by a morning session with Idaho state prayer coordinator Beverly Goding and Katie Densley. Workshops will be held from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. to make flags for worship and Israeli dancing; $10 will cover material costs for the flags. Fellowship at 6 p.m. is followed by Communion.

COMMUNITY METHODIST TEEN ACTIVITIES

Community United Methodist Church, 1470 W. Hanley Ave., has weekly activities planned for the entire summer geared toward teens in grades 6 through 12, who attend any middle or high school in the area.

Youth ministries coordinator William Bentz has planned events for each Wednesday from noon to 6 p.m., including swimming, games at Triple Play, hiking, and visiting Twinlow Camp at Twin Lakes. There will also be plenty of food.

Smaller groups of middle school students meet on Mondays, and senior high school students meet on Tuesdays in member's homes. Call the church for locations.

-- Teen volunteers are needed to help with the vacation Bible school to be held July 12-16 from 9 a.m. to noon each day. The theme for the camp is Son Games, with all of the action revolving around an Olympic theme. Teens are encouraged to help with games, music, snacks, crafts or anywhere they might be needed.
