Flexibility with NCL's Freestyle Dining - Travelers intercom: readers' opinions, tips & recommendations - Letter to the Editor
Carol WilliamsThis is a response to the reader's letter titled "Single's Outlook on Freestyle Dining' (Aug. '03, pg. 33).
I have been on two Norwegian Cruise Line cruises, one as a single traveler. In February '02 I did a 2-week South American cruise on the Norwegian Dream, and in September '02 I did a one-week cruise to Bermuda on the Norwegian Majesty. On Aug. 21, '03, I leave for a 2-week "Scandinavian Capitals/St. Petersburg" cruise on the Norwegian Dream.
I love the Freestyle Dining plan! The part I like best is the flexibility in terms of when I want to eat, which maybe different from day to day. My experience has been that there have only been five or six people in line when I wanted to eat.
When I traveled alone, I met two women from England and it was easy for the three of us to meet for dinner, which we did several times but not every night.
The $10-per-day tipping is also something I've liked about Norwegian Cruise Line. It seems like a hassle-free approach to tipping.
