摘要：Thesis is focused on a new and rapidly developing branch of tourism - an astrotourism. The main aim of the thesis is to evaluate the landscape potential of the Banská Bystrica self-governing region (BBSR) for the development of astrotourism. One of the main factors of landscape potential affecting the development of astrotourism is the dark sky. Therefore,in the empirical part,we focused on the evaluation of the level of night sky brightness by visual method,by means of measuring technique (Sky Quality Meter) and photographically. The measurements were carried out at 12 selected localities with representation in all geomorphological units of the BBSR. The higher night sky brightness values indicate higher sky darkness suitable for astronomical observations. Subsequently,we evaluated the potential of the localities for the development of astrotourism using a scoring system,taking into account natural and anthropogenic factors of BBSR.
