摘要：The important role that tourism and travel must play in the development of Romania's economic and social future is undeniable. However, much remains to be done to ensure that the industry's potential is fully realized. Both government and industry will have to overcome a number of challenges to ensure that maximum benefits are achieved for the economy and society in a sustainable and long-term way. Long-term planning at both regional and national level is a premise for generating investor confidence and organizing the sustainable and successful development of tourism in Romania. The lack of a tourism development strategy can lead to the degradation of tourism resources with very serious socio-economic implications. From the economic point of view, the degradation of the tourist potential is reflected first of all, in the impossibility of its capitalization from the tourist point of view as a source of income, thus constituting a definitive loss for the economy.
