摘要:This study aims to determine the anger and mercy levels of the individuals who are attending to sports centres in their leisure time in terms of the exercise they do. In addition to the determined levels of compassion and anger we examined whether age, gender, marital status, having children, income level, education level, type of exercise they participated in and duration of regular exercise had an impact. In accordance with the aim of this study, the universe numbers of the sports centres which are located in the province of Kocaeli. Samples were chosen from these sports centres by applying Sample Method. Then they were informed about this study. Meetings were held at these centres on days and times determined by the management of these centres that allowed this study to be conducted. The members of the sports centres were given information about the aim of the study. After the informing stage, the volunteers who wanted to participate in the study were handed out scales. At the end of the scale-filling process, 504 scales were considered to be valid for the study and they were evaluated. The data show normal distribution when analysed. Therefore, t test-from parametric tests- was applied for binary cluster comparisons and variance analysis was applied for three or more cluster comparisons. When we studied the analysis, significant differences were determined in all the sub-dimensions of the Anger Scale and in some sub-dimensions of the Mercy Scale, such as compassion, negligence, conscious-awareness, and separation. Significant differences were found in the sub-dimension of the Anger Scale in terms of the socio-demographic variables such as age, the number of children they have, professional status, how long they do sports, and the state of health. Likewise, significant differences were found in sub-dimensions of the Mercy Scale in terms of the sociodemographic variables such as age, the leisure time activity they attend, and how long they do sports. Regular participation in exercise classes in their free times was observed to increase the level of mercy whereas it decreases the level of anger.
