  • 摘要:Concepts are principles that organize and integrate a lot of information within a subject. It is about being able to teach concepts correctly and on the spot that education can take place in a healthy way. Primary school students need to know the basic concepts in order to be able to learn the main elements of the social studies course which has an important place in terms of concept richness and to overcome the social problems they will face. The concepts allow elementary school students to have basic schemas in their minds and to have new information in a meaningful way. The research was prepared to determine the views of Secondary School students on concept teaching. Case science (phenomonology) pattern from qualitative research patterns was used in the research. 75 (6.7.8) who studied in Ankara province. Class constituted a middle school student. Appropriate sampling method was used in the research. A semi-structured interview form was used to collect the data. As a result of the research, Middle School students stated that the most used technique in concept learning in Social Studies Lesson was concept map, and stated that they had difficulties in learning abstract and historical concepts. The most common problems that students face in concept teaching are lack of materials, presence of abstract concepts, lack of prior knowledge, higher cognitive levels of concepts, lack of course time. It is important to use concept teaching techniques to overcome these problems suggestions have been made such as using material to embody abstract concepts and using plenty of examples.
