  • 摘要:Globalization and technology opportunities help to increase the people’s responsibilities for each other, even though they live in the different parts of the world. The rights and responsibilities of being a global citizen require to be well-prepared and well-equipped. People should be educated for being how to be an effective global citizen by teachers who are aware of the importance of being a global citizen and using technology for supporting global citizenship via technology. This study is conducted in Ege University Department of Primary School Teacher in Fall Academic Semester 2014 with 188 pre-service teachers’ participation. The aim of this study is to understand pre-service teachers’ views on global citizenship by using the Global Citizenship Survey which was created by Morais ve Ogden (2011) and transated into Turkish by Şahin ve Çermik (2014). This study is also aimed to understand participants’ perspective on relation between global citizenship and technology. Therefore, there were asked some questions about pre-service teacher habits on reading newspapers, journels, watching tv and using internet. According to the results of this study, the global citizenship surveys results were average; regularly following a journal or a newspaper rate was low although watching TV and using internet rate were high. It is suggested that the curriculum for understanding how to use social media and  technology for being an effective global citizen should be designed by the experts and the courses bases on this curriculum need to be recommended for the every levels of education.
