摘要:The present study aimed to investigate whether individuals with high social anxiety prefer robots over humans as their exercise/sports partner. This study included a questionnaire survey with 520 Japanese participants (mean age=44.39, SD =14.33). The results showed that for all exercise-/sports-related situations, participants who selected robots as exercise/sports partners scored significantly higher on the SIAS-6 assessing social anxiety than the participants who selected humans. It can be concluded that introducing robots as exercise/sport partners may help people with high social anxiety start and continue their daily physical activities.
