摘要：Este estudo apresenta uma avaliação do tratamento conferido à classe das conjunções em obras da tradição gramatical antiga (séculos XVIII e XIX) de língua portuguesa com o objetivo de verificar critérios e parâmetros configuradores dessa classe nessas gramáticas. Este estudo penetra no território em análise a partir do modo como ele é configurado, descrito e explorado pelos autores em exame, e, a partir da recolha dessas informações, levanta quais sejam os critérios (sintáticos, semânticos e pragmáticos) que atuam na definição e na caracterização da classe das conjunções, defendendo, por fim, que as obras da tradição gramatical constituem um terreno fértil para uma avaliação consciente e responsável do tratamento dos fatos linguísticos.
其他摘要：The present study evaluates the treatment conferred to conjunctions in the Portuguese grammatical tradition (mainly works from the 18th and 19th centuries) aiming at verifying the criteria and parameters that constitute this particular part of speech. This study enters the territory of conjunctions through the consideration of how it is configured, described and explored by the authors under examination; and, based on the information gathered, the study explicates the criteria (syntactic, semantic, and pragmatic) that come into play in the definition and characterization of the class of conjunctions. Ultimately this paper defends that traditional grammars constitute a fertile zone for a conscientious and responsible evaluation of linguistic facts.
