摘要：O presente trabalho tem por objetivo destacar a atuação de grupos espíritas da cidade de Santa Maria no que se refere às preocupações com a infância entre 1930 a 1945. Nesse cenário, o amplo debate sobre a vulnerabilidade social e a questão social converge para a consolidação das instituições voltadas a acolher e instruir meninos e meninas na cidade de Santa Maria-RS. Assim, interessa-nos, no âmbito da atuação social do espiritismo, discutir a compreensão sobre a infância e a proposta escolarização por parte dos espíritas da cidade de Santa Maria, em que a educação profissional aparece como horizonte de interpretação em acordo com o debate sobre as políticas educacionais da época.
其他摘要：The present work aims to highlight the work of spiritist groups in the city of Santa Maria with regard to concerns about childhood between 1930 and 1945. In this scenario, a broad debate on social vulnerability and the social issue converges towards consolidation institutions dedicated to welcoming and instructing boys and girls in the city of Santa Maria-RS. Thus, we are interested, within the scope of the social work of spiritism, to discuss the understanding of childhood and the schooling proposal by the spiritists of the city of Santa Maria, in which professional education appears as a horizon of interpretation in accordance with the debate on educational policies of the time.
