摘要：Thinking of the relationship between the country and the city these days means both overcoming prior representations of the rural space — the dichotomous proposal conceived/placed in a context of urban logic affirmation — and recognizing the city and the country as elements integrated by a unique but diverse logic: that of the capitalist production of space. Possibly, the main cause of breakthrough of such paradigm is the dynamic character of space that reproduces itself influenced by a territorial order and a hegemonic production model at a given historical time. This study discusses country–city and rural–urban relations based on the assumption that country and city may relate to the same spatial production flow insofar as the rural and the urban articulate more to subjective aspects (identity, mode/rhythm of life, relationship with nature) and social interactions between agents who reproduce (or even reinvent) such subjectivities.
