  • 摘要:In the paper several uncertainties associated with different methods of estimating of design discharges for small, medium and large catchments are described. Potential sources of uncertainty in the calculation of design discharges are discussed with an emphasis on the minimization of their influence. For medium sized and large catchments examples are given of uncertainties resulting from the choice of the observation period, selection of the distribution function and its parameter estimation method and of using different regionalization principles. For methods applicable to small catchments the influence of the determination of the design rainfall intensity and the design runoff coefficient are treated in detail. Design discharges estimated by different statistical and regional methods for medium sized and small catchments in the Myjava region were compared. Practical recommendations for the application of these methods are given.
