摘要:Vegetation of burial places and tombs had earlier mainly symbolic significance in Slovakia and has identified a location of tomb. Later the significance of vegetation has been increasing mainly as a composition element that depended on the type of burial place, it means from architectonical, to park and forest cemetery. The recent design of burial places tends to increase a proportion of greenery that connects all its functions and rediscover a greenery symbolism. Therefore we have to search the inspiration for recent design of burial places in burial customs and tomb arrangements of our grandfathers and inspire with simplicity, humility a symbolism of cemeteries. The tree as an original identification of tomb would become a fundamental composition element of recent cemetery design in Slovakia. Slovakia has optimal condition for creation of landscape cemeteries. This approach enables use of trees and shrubs in various forms (soliter tree, clusters of trees, balks, orchards and forests) and also inspiring with character of surroundings landscape.
