摘要:In the last 30 years the interest of researchers, planners, managers and policy makers about landscape has been increased. Key principal documents have been developed to address the protection, planning and management of landscape. The European Landscape Convention submitted in Florence, Italy in 2000 is particularly important document of the Council of Europe. It should also highlight the activities of the European Conference of Ministers responsible for spatial and regional planning. New ideas to strengthen the importance of landscape as a major topic in development policies at European level brought the ministerial conferences the Environment for Europe. Already today there are several policies and strategies of the European Union, which significantly affect the landscape and its use. They are the Common Agricultural Policy, Regional Development Strategy, European Sustainability Strategy, Climate Change Programme, Resource Environmental Efficiency Strategy, Biodiversity Policy and others. What is lacking in the current situation in Europe is an effective mechanism about how to coordinate cooperation among researchers – planners – policy makers, and thereby contribute to more efficient use of experience and knowledge of the latest research results in policies on development of landscape. Therefore, a community of professionals from landscape-related disciplines started to discuss very intensively about the vision how to improve the current situation. The article summarizes the main conclusions and recommendation of the science-policy briefing in Florence (October 2010) and the seminar Landscape in Changing World in Brussels (October 2011). Both events brought fruitful contributions to two points: how to create a European Landscape Forum and define steps for implementation of the Action Plan for the European Landscape.
