摘要:Hydrological cycle in the mountains has some typical features. Due to less data from the harsh mountain environment they are not studied into such a detail as those in lower elevated, more populated areas. The article presents an overview of the results of hydrological research conducted in the Jalovecký creek catchment, which is representative for the small mountain catchments of the highest part of the Carpathian Mountains. Second part of the article is focused on the main water balance components (precipitation, runoff) in period 1989 – 2010 including extremes.
