Certain chronic conditions are associated with severe tooth loss, which can diminish quality of life and interfere with eating healthy foods. What is added by this report? Among adults aged ≥50 years who had a dental exam as part of the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, those reporting selected chronic conditions were significantly more likely to have severe tooth loss than were persons without chronic conditions.
