摘要:Sedentary living a concept that may encompass sedentary behavior, physical inactivity and light physical activities has been described as an “unhealthy and costly lifestyle” and one of the biggest public health problems in the 21st century. Purpose: In this research,it was aimed to study the effect of step-aerobic and core exercises in middle-aged sedentary women on some physiologic and hematological parameters. METHOD: Total 23 women who are at the age of between 34,78±5,13 (step-aerobic group (n=10) and coreexercise group (n=13)) voluntarily participated in the survey. For 16 weeks, two different exercises at the severity of 60-70 per cent were applied to the women in a training of 60 minutes four days a week. The physical, physiological characteristics and hematological parameters of the women were measured before and after the exercise. The fat mass to determine Bodystat 1500 MDD equipment was used. Maximal oxygen uptake (VO2Max) was determined by 20 m shuttle run test and pulmonary function parameters used by spirometry. The statistical analysis,Wilcoxon and Mann-Whitney U test from non-parametric tests were used. Findings: Following the exercise program,step-aerobic group body weight (73,40±8,75 /68,70±8,12),body mass index (28,67±3,28 / 26,80±2,77),waist (92,80±11,80 / 86,60±9,07),hip (115,20±6,77 / 110,30±7,27),core exercises group weight (73,76±8,69 / 69,00±7,97),body mass index (29,45±2,29 / 27,56±2,29),waist (91,53±6,59 / 84,76±6,16),hip (113,76±6,45 / 106,07±6,13) values of both groups decreased (p<0,05 and p<0,01). Step-aerobic group VO2Max (25,87±1,30/ 34,47±3,65),back strength (37,60±12,44 / 80,20±5,37) and 30-second sit-up (23,40±4,11/31,00±3,49) with core exercises group VO2Max (25,44±1,97 /30,41±3,49),back strength (35,96±7,95/ 83,61±12,05) and 30-second sit-up (22,00±3,58 /32,15±2,88) values of both groups increased (p<0,05 and p<0,01). Although it was observed that there was an increase in the FVC values of both groups,no statistically meaningful difference could be found. In addition,in the hematological results of core exercise group, some meaningful decreases were determined in the values of RBC (4,52±0,27/4,34±0,26),HGB (12,60±1,19/11,74±1,31),HCT (38,57±3,15/35,99±3,46) and MCV (85,27±6,73/82,97±7,73) (p<0,05 and p<0,01). RESULTS and DISCUSSION: Aerobic exercise showed significant improvement in hemoglobin, hematocrit, red blood cells count and platelet. Córdova et al. (2010),who found the maximal incremental exercise test significantly increased erythrocytes, hematocrit and blood hemoglobin levels in volleyball players, and Cho et al. (2012) who reported increased platelet counts in response to the acute effect of treadmill exercise in college male students. It has been concluded that step-aerobic and core exercises have also an impact on physiologic parameters while improving the physical fitness of sedentary women. Along with this,a meaningful decrease has been found in the values of RBC,HGB,HCT and MCV of core exercise group compared to step-aerobic exercise.
