摘要:Within the context of inserting modern communication technologies in the educational process as well as of the rapid development of individual formative programmes destined to pupils of diverse ages and taking into account that the formation of communication competences represents one of the essential requirements of the graduates’ professional insertion,the formation of pupils’ personalized instruction abilities has become one of the dimensions of school education. This fact proves to be very stringent as permanent education represents the fundamental axis in ensuring the three pillars of education: “to know”,“to be”,“to learn to be”. The present study proposes a theoretical approach of the self-directed learning concept in general and specifically in the process of learning foreign languages. We have started from the premise that school succes in the learning activity in general and implicitly in learning foreign languages,is encouraged by the extent in which the individual/pupil forms and develops selfdirected and independent learning competences permanently.
