摘要：The paper outlines current and future remote sensing program s which are base on a variety o f sensors. Special focus has been placed on several commercial. Earth observation satellites which will be lunched in the next nine years 1997 - 2005 into polar orbit. Commercially owned and operated digital observing sensors belong to very high resolution satellite electro-optical systems and produce digital panchromatic images with spatial resolutions 1 or 3 meters and in multispectral bands fro m 4 to 15 meters. The paper contains two tables. One lists existing operational Earth Resources remote sensing civilian satellite systems that produce images suitable fo r resource inventory and cartographic applications. A nd the second summarise high resolution commercial Earth observing satellites,their orbit and sensor information.
