摘要：In the article the substance of the concept «sustainable development» is explored. The modern worldwide methodical and practical experience in the evaluation of the sustainable development in the context of countries and regions is analyzed,the specificity of the existing theories and models is researched,their weaknesses and strengths are defined. It was found that the sustainable development depends on the balancing of the economic,social and environmental factors. As a result of the carried out research the approaches to the estimation and the contents of the integral components of the sustainable development indicators was systematized,the directions for the formation of methodology of its objective evaluation were identified.
