摘要:Objective: This study investigated the experiences of trainees in their first Child-Centered Counseling Education and Training Program. Methods: Five novice trainees participated in 10 sessions Child-Centered Counseling Education and Training Program. Qualitative data were collected via group interviews and reports about the trainees’ experiences. The data were analyzed using the Giorgi’s descriptive phenomenological method. Results: Eight components were derived from the data: improvement of knowledge and ability to use techniques, self-awareness and introspection, frustration and self-doubt, practicing counseling in daily life, experiencing the effectiveness of counseling, realizing one’s potential, inspiration of passion, and concretization and implementation. The trainees’ growth stemmed from the improvement of knowledge and the ability to use techniques, and all components were intertwined. Conclusion: The novice trainees experienced significant growth using this program.
