摘要：A organização e a representação na Arquivologia consideram bases dos elementos e dos contextospresentes nos documentos, assim a projeção desses documentos é permeada por características ligadas àsua criação. Objetiva-se apresentar pontos da organização e da representação na Arquivologia, por meiodas atividades de classificação e de descrição norteadoras no processo de acesso à informação nosarquivos, destacando-se a prospecção e o aprofundamentos a respeito da temática. Valemo-nos de revisãoteórica, com abordagem qualitativa e com direcionamentos descritivos. Observa-se que os documentospossuem particularidades que devem ser consideradas pelas atividades de classificação e de descrição. Emdiscussões contemporâneas, o arquivista aparece como um agente mais envolvido com os usuários, com aconstrução de sistemas complexos, como agente de organização e de significação nos arquivos. Algunsestudos no Brasil vêm aprofundado e estabelecendo conexões entre a organização e a representação doconhecimento nos arquivos e as dimensões da representação temática, seja por meio da indexação, sejaacerca de bases do assunto envolvidas com a classificação e com a descrição arquivística, em consonânciaao documento arquivístico e dos seus entornos.
其他摘要：The organization and representation in Archivology consider the bases of the elements and contexts present in the documents, so the projection of these documents is permeated by characteristics linked to their creation. The objective is to present points of organization and representation in Archivology, through the classification and description activities that guide the process of accessing information in the archives, highlighting the prospecting and deepening about the theme. We used a theoretical review, with a qualitative approach and with descriptive directions. It is observed that the documents have particularities that must be considered by the classification and description activities. In contemporary discussions, the archivist appears as an agent more involved with users, with the construction of complex systems, as an agent of organization and meaning in the archives. Some studies in Brazil have been deepened and establishing connections between the organization and the representation of knowledge in the archives and the dimensions of the thematic representation, either through indexing, or about the bases of the subject involved with the classification and the archival description, in line to the archival document and its surroundings.
