摘要：A metodologia STEM tem sido utilizada por diversas escolas e universidades no mundo com o objetivo de levar os alunos a se envolverem em soluções de problemas reais de forma multidisciplinar. Uma metodologia inovadora em que há uma ideia de rompimento com o ensino tradicional passivo, no qual o aluno pouco interage com o objeto de estudo e não vê conexões com o mundo, com o seu dia a dia. Nasce nos Estados Unidos da América a partir da necessidade de formar profissionais qualificados nas áreas STEM: Ciência, Tecnologia, Engenharia e Matemática. A proposta chega aos outros países e como resultado a STEM Education se torna um tópico de discussão nos círculos político, econômico e educacional em todo o mundo. No Brasil, o movimento em prol da STEM Education ainda é tímido quando comparado com a atenção dada em diversos países. Assim, emerge uma questão: até o momento, o que há de produções acadêmicas científicas sobre a STEM e o Ensino Superior? Portanto, o presente artigo trata de uma revisão bibliográfica sobre a STEM no Ensino Superior, bem como da análise sobre esta aproximação como uma inovação no ensino. Constatou-se que a quantidade das produções científicas relacionadas à STEM no Ensino Superior ainda é considerada mínima diante da importância e aplicabilidade do tema. Não foram encontrados trabalhos que discutem a aplicação da STEM no Ensino Superior, entretanto há trabalhos que enfocam o ensino básico, a formação de professores e a interdisciplinaridade, sendo estas últimas grandes desafios da aplicação da metodologia.
其他摘要：The STEM methodology has been used by several schools and universities around the world with the objective of getting students involved in solving real problems in a multidisciplinary way. An innovative methodology in which there is an idea of disruption with passive traditional teaching, in which the student has little interaction with the object of study and sees no connections with the world, with his daily lives. It was born in the United States of America from the need to train qualified professionals in the STEM areas: Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. The proposal reaches other countries and as a result STEM Education becomes a topic of discussion in political, economic and educational circles around the world. In Brazil, the movement in favor of STEM Education is still timid when compared to the attention given in several countries. Thus, a question emerges: so far, what is there of scientific academic productions about STEM and Higher Education? Therefore, this article deals with a bibliographic review on STEM in Higher Education, as well as the analysis of this approach as an innovation in teaching. It was found that the amount of scientific productions related to STEM in Higher Education is still considered minimal due to the importance and applicability of the theme. No studies were found that discuss the application of STEM in Higher Education, however there are studies that focus on basic education, teacher training and interdisciplinarity, the latter being major challenges in the application of the methodology.
