摘要:In this study we analyse educational attainment related to students'chances of com-pleting grade progression in basic education (elementary and secondary levels) inBrazil. Based on PNAD data (National Survey based on household sample) from 1999and 2013 we used logit models to estimate changes in the effects of social back-ground in grade progression. The main results show that even though socioeconomicand race inequalities persist, their effects have decreased in the last few years. Thisindicates a reduction of socioeconomic barriers to educational attainment in Brazil.
